Our Founder

Meet Morgan

Morgan Hipworth is a French-trained pâtissier, entrepreneur, and the creative mind behind Melbourne’s beloved Bistro Morgan. Starting his journey at just 15, Morgan has grown his brand into a household name, known for handcrafted goodies.

Now 24, he’s the best-selling author of Made by Morgan, a food focused content creator with over 1 million followers, and the founder of both Bistro Morgan and his Mediterranean restaurant, Maven by Morgan. A passionate advocate for making food fun, approachable, and full of joy, Morgan continues to inspire through his creativity, hustle, and heart—both in the kitchen and on screen.

How it Started...

Morgan Hipworth’s culinary journey kicked off at just seven years old, inspired by MasterChef and a love for entertaining. What started as weekend three-course meals for family soon turned into something bigger. By 2014, at the age of 13, Morgan was baking before school and supplying handmade treats to local Melbourne cafes.

Bistro Morgan was born from a simple love of cooking and a drive to create something extraordinary. As orders rolled in, Morgan upgraded his home kitchen with commercial gear, juggling school and baking with the kind of hustle that would soon become his signature.

From the start, Bistro Morgan stood out for its commitment to freshness, creativity, and quality. Media recognition followed TV appearances, viral social moments, and even a nod from Instagram’s co-founder Kevin Systrom, who called Morgan a “one-in-a-million star.”

In September 2016, a pop-up store sparked massive queues and even more buzz, paving the way for Bistro Morgan’s permanent home. By December, the flagship store opened on High Street, Windsor personally designed and built from the ground up by Morgan.

Today, Bistro Morgan Bakehouse is more than just doughnuts. It’s a community hub, a brunch go-to, and a place where everything from scrolls to sandwiches and seriously good coffee is made with love.
